Why We Go the Extra Mile When Cleaning Your Child’s Car Seat

If you're a parent, you already know your car’s back seat is home to more than just a booster or convertible seat. It’s a snack station, a nap zone, a crayon testing lab, and sometimes…a goldfish cracker graveyard.
At Premium Shine, we understand how important it is to keep that space clean—not just for looks, but for your child’s health and safety. That’s why we take extra care when it comes to cleaning kids’ car seats. Here’s a look at how we handle them and why we do it the way we do.
1. We Clean With Care
Children have sensitive skin, developing immune systems, and a knack for licking the parts of a car seat no adult would even touch. So when it comes to cleaning, we go gentle.
We use minimal, kid-safe products—mostly water, a touch of gentle soap when absolutely necessary, and good old-fashioned elbow grease. No harsh fragrances. No chemical fog. Just a clean seat, the way nature and nervous parents intended.
2. Yes, We Remove the Seat
We know car seats are a pain to install, and many people avoid touching them unless absolutely necessary. But here’s the deal: it’s the only way to really clean around and underneath them. Food, dirt, and mystery goo collect in the nooks and crannies of the car’s upholstery and under the seat base—and no one wants that stuff hanging out near their little one.
Our team will carefully remove your child’s car seat (no extra charge) to clean both the seat itself and the area beneath it.
3. We put the Seat... Sideways or Backwards
Now, we could just clip the car seat back in and call it good—but we don’t. Instead, we purposely put the seat sideways or backwards. Why? Because you, the parent or caregiver, need to be the one to securely reattach it.
Car seat safety is serious business. One loose strap or misrouted belt could make all the difference in a crash. By leaving the seat in an obviously “wrong” position, we give you a visual cue to double-check the installation. It’s our subtle reminder that your child’s safety comes first.
If you're unsure about reinstalling the seat, we always recommend visiting a local car seat technician or fire station. (Many offer free checks!)
4. It’s Always Free
We don’t believe in nickel-and-diming you for protecting your kid. There’s no extra charge for removing, cleaning, and repositioning your car seat. It’s just part of what we do. Because if we’re going to call ourselves “premium,” we need to act like it.
5. What to Expect as a Parent
Here’s what will happen if you book with us and have a car seat in your vehicle:
We'll remove the seat during your detail.
We'll gently clean it using non-toxic methods.
We’ll clean the area under and around the seat thoroughly.
When we’re done, we’ll set it in a way that makes it clear it needs to be properly re-secured.
And we’ll never charge extra for this step.
All we ask? Please reinstall the seat yourself—or let us know if you'd like us to leave it completely out so you can do it later.
Why It Matters
Your car is full of precious cargo, but nothing more valuable than your child. Our job is to make sure their space is clean, safe, and ready for your next road trip—or snack explosion.
Because whether it’s spilled juice or melted crayons, we’ve seen it all. And we’re here to help, judgment-free.
